Zanshin Karate Club

Hull Zanshin Karate Club is based at the Cottingham Pavilion. We took up residence here when the facility was re opened in September 2010. We practice a form of Karate known as Wado Ryu, which is Japanese in origin. We meet every Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 6.00pm- 7.30pm and anyone from 7 yrs up are welcome. We have a structured grading system (Coloured Belts) which helps to chart your progress through the ranks. We also offer students of all ages the opportunity to compete if they so wish. Our club belongs to the governing body for Karate in England, The English Karate Federation. This allows us to take part in competitions at Regional, National and International level. Our Instructor is Sensei Tony Dent 6th Dan. Tony started training in 1974 with Sensei John Moreton and is now a senior instructor within John Moreton’s Wado UK Karate group. Tony is also a British Kumite (Fighting) referee and European Kata (Forms) judge. We meet all relevant criteria for CRB checks, Insurances and National Governing Body requirements and all or any of this documentation is available to view on request. The three main reasons for people training with us are; self confidence, fitness and competition. If any of these reasons appeal to you or any other reason for that matter, why not pop along and meet the group.

Training Times: Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6.00pm-7.30pm

Prices: £3 per class with concessions for both classes and extra family members

No special clothing or equipment is required at first, just loose comfortable clothing (No dangerous zips), and a bottle of water will get you started. We look forward to seeing you there!
